There are only a few boards left to ship and then we'll call this campaign closed. Please, if you haven't completed the Pledge Manager survey, do so. Once these final boards are shipped out of the distributors, we will be turning off this campaign.

Europe

The shipment with the last boards has arrived in Greece at our distributor and he will be shipping these out within a week.

Australia

There were a couple backers who had damaged or missing boards in Australia. These have arrived (or will arrive in the next few days) at our distributor. I expect that these will go out within the week.

Everyone Else

There may still be a board or two in Asia or the US that has fallen through the cracks. If that is the case, please let our support team know at [email protected] and they will work through the details to get these final ones shipped.

Wave 2 Shipping Update

Happy New Year with lots of good news for those remaining backers who are waiting patiently for their Wave 2 boards.

The container bound for the US is scheduled to arrive in port tomorrow. From there, it will be 1 1/2 to 3 weeks before it arrives in our warehouse and we can start shipping the boards out to the remaining US backers. Our last container of products took only 8 days to get from the port to our warehouse, but that was a crazy anomaly and I am hesitant to count on that again. Still, won't take us long to prepare and ship these boards once we receive the container.

The boards going to Europe are also en route, but I don't have an exact arrival date yet, but I expect a notification from our distributor that they have reached port within the next couple of weeks.

Wave 2 for Canada, Australia, and the UK all should have been shipped as part of Wave 1. I know of a couple problems with boards that were shipping to those locations and when Wave 2 arrives, we will be sending out replacements for those boards.

Thank you all for your support and patience as we approach the finish line with this project! This was, BY FAR, our largest Crokinole fulfillment ever and this is only because you have shared one of the greatest games ever created with your friends an family. We love playing Crokinole and are happy to provide the experience with all of you and hope to continue supporting you into the future.

Wave 2 Production Update

Production is just starting...?!

I know this is what you are thinking. I had the same response when the factory told me.

Apparently, because we came back to them with issues from the Wave 1 boards, they pushed us back in the production queue. Originally, the boards were supposed to be completed by the end of August to arrive to you in October. I kept asking for a completion and ship date. They told me a couple of weeks ago that they had just started and the new completion date is October 15th. I waited until I had a reason why before sending out this update.

We are working to ensure that these get to you by Christmas, but at this point, it will be close if we do. It won't be the first time we are unloading containers right before Christmas to get shipments out to backers.

Shipping Updates

EU/US

All Wave 1 boards should be shipped and have arrived at your home. If you are part of Wave 1 and haven't received your board, please contact [email protected] and Curt will track down what has happened and get a replacement sent out to you ASAP.

UK/Australia

All Wave 1, Wave 2, and October delivery boards should be delivered. (Except for 2 backers in Australia whose boards somehow disappeared at the distributor. A replacement is being sent out from China with some Wave 2 boards going to a retail store there.)

China and Japan

The factory should have sent these out. I think there was 1 board that they did not send out. I am following up with them regarding these shipments to ensure that everything is sent out before all of Wave 2 leaves China.

Canada

All Wave 1, Wave 2, and October delivery boards have arrived at the distributor in Canada and should start going out shortly. There were only a couple boards from the later wave, so we were able to use some of the ones we set aside for replacements and sent them up early. I apologize that these have taken so long to deliver, but getting everything signed and preparing a new process really slowed things down.

To All

If you have not received your board and you are in Wave 1, please email [email protected], except Canada. (Please give us a few weeks before you start hitting Curt up with issues over which he has no control.) Customer Support is all caught up from the deluge that I dumped on them. They pride themselves on responding to all emails within 48 hours.

I've been pretty AFK these last couple of weeks due to my traveling in Europe for my honeymoon prior to Essen Spiel, but after that convention, I'm home and on my computer to address any concerns and to ensure Wave 2 arrives to you as soon as possible. If you'll be at the convention, please stop by. It's always a pleasure to meet our backers face to face.

Europe Distribution Has Begun in Earnest

Crokinole Tournament

Before the shipping update, I wanted to tell a little about our GenCon Crokinole Tournament. Each year, Mayday Games sponsors the tournament and awards the winners in each bracket a Mayday Crokinole board. This year, one of our backers from this season was the winner of the Beginner's bracket. We had the chance to talk with his son quite a bit while Dad played. They received their board just a few days before GenCon and had the chance to play about 5 games before the convention. They got to the tournament, signed up and Dad performed like an expert and won himself a second board.

The final game of the Expert bracket was amazing! I've never seen Crokinole played so well! Of the 16 discs played in the final game (8 per side), 11 landed in the hole. The Expert winner gave his prize board to his brother who was a Mayday Crokinole backer about 5 years ago. The brother told us that they had played so many games on his Mayday board that it was about worn out. Congratulations to all who played. We had so much fun meeting in person several of our current and past backers.

SHIPPING

Wave 1 shipping is nearly complete. Here is where we stand...

UNITED KINGDOM

The shipment has arrived and is in our distributor's warehouse. They will be sending out address confirmations in the next few days and the boards will hopefully ship next week. 

EUROPE

As many of your are already finding out, shipment has started. I don't know the actual timing of everything going out, but the distributor was attempting to get it all shipped before they shut down for holiday.

CANADA

The pallets of boards are loaded, shrink wrapped, and ready to go. As I was attempting to schedule with our regular distributor, I received a big surprise. Email... no response. Email... no response. Email... FINALLY... a response that they had been purchased by another distributor. Since then, I've been having calls and submitting paperwork so that we can send up the pallets. Finally, everything is ready to go and we will have these boards on a truck by the end of the week. I apologize for the delay. This was a REALLY BIG unforeseen roadblock.

ASIA

Our warehouse in China has the addresses and these boards are finally being shipped.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT ISSUES

Wave 2

Just yesterday, I gave the final approval for Wave 2 production to begin. We've provided pictures and feedback regarding Wave 1 boards and I'm confident that they will resolve issues that came up on a small percentage of the Wave 1 boards. It feels like every production run has it's own set of surprises. I can only hope that this run's surprise is that everything is perfect.

I've been modifying this update all week as new information comes in. As for now, this is what I know.

More Shipments Going Out Today

For those of you in the US, the screw sets are back in stock and we are shipping out another couple hundred boards from Wave 1 today.

Inventory Issues

We let you know last week that we had run out of Brown Crokinole Discs. Our inventory counts in the warehouse must have been off because we have now run out of Purple Crokinole Discs as well. Those remaining orders that might have ordered these two colors will be receiving a refund for those discs and your Crokinole Board will ship with the rest of your add-ons.

Because of these issues, when we receive the refresh shipment of discs with the Wave 2 boards, we will send out a coupon code that will allow everyone to order additional discs at 50% off. This will help offset the shipping cost of the additional discs.

For our Canadian backers, because the shipping cost of anything to Canada is expensive, I will be emailing each of you who have ordered these colors to allow you to select a different color rather than just sending a refund.

Rest of the World

The ships are arriving at the ports in Europe, Australia, and the UK and things are progressing nicely there. I hope to see shipments start to leave these locations soon.

Our Asian backers have been waiting patiently and I have been overwhelmed managing the 2000+ shipments out of the US. As soon as I get a resting moment, I will have these sent out to you.
